With all of the excitement surrounding CBD products, restaurants, bars, and drink companies have hopped on the bandwagon. Now, you can purchase CBD infused drinks at many stores, restaurants, and bars. The idea of a night out on the town with some alcoholic CBD drinks does sound relaxing, but just like you, we had many questions. What percentage of CBD is in the drinks? What exactly do they do? Do the store-bought drinks taste good? These are just some of the many questions we had. If you are in the same boat, keep reading.
Our team at Superior Hemp Oil in Reading, Massachusetts, did the research and now have some of the answers to everything to the questions you have about CBD beverages.
The FDA On CBD Beverages
Those who have been following the progress of CBD acceptance in society know how difficult it was in the past to get it to where it is today. But now CBD is legalized federally, sold to anyone who wants it, and is being studied by scientists. The progress is astounding and is helping make many people’s lives better. Despite all of this progress, the Food and Drug Administration still does not approve of CBD beverages. The reason being is that there is still not enough information known about CBD and its effects. CBD alone needs to be studied more for the FDA to approve of the beverages. Yet, fruity flavored drinks with CBD infused and cocktails with CBD are still popping up everywhere. So for starters, these drinks are not regulated.
Are the Drinks Effective?
Despite no regulations in place, many people feel comfortable trying out the CBD drinks and are curious if they work. CBD, in general, has not yet been proven to be an efficient treatment for many of the conditions people claim it works for. However, if you take CBD products and feel it works for you, more power to you. While your gummies and droplets may work and help you out with your condition, the drinks are a little bit more complicated. The thing about mixing CBD into drinks is that the CBD does not dissolve into liquids. So companies or restaurants pouring a drop or two into a beverage isn’t going to give you a strong effect. Because of this, it’s safe to assume the drinks are safe and are not doing any harm. All in all, these drinks are more expensive and maybe a money grab for companies. But if you don’t mind cashing out on them, we don’t see any reason to avoid them.
CBD Drinks Mixed With Other CBD Products
Another question we had when we first heard about the CBD beverages was whether or not they can be taken with other CBD products. The answer to this question is a little different for everyone because dosage amounts depend on many factors. When you take CBD, you should always consider your age, tolerance, metabolism, and weight. Figuring out how to measure a dose for two CBD products at the same time may get hard and almost isn’t worth the effort. The thing is, no one knows the long-term effects of CBD and if taking too much will do harm. For that reason, we say it’s better to be safe than sorry. Sticking to one product and your usual dose at a time is the best way to protect yourself. In the future when we know more, feel free to get experimental if safe, but for now, it just isn’t worth it.
